Environment, Health + Safety
At Stellar, safety is our number one priority. A plant-wide safety committee is a proactive force in the plant. Safety is an employee right, regulatory requirement and key element in creating a quality product.
Stellar is committed to an injury-free workplace and implements appropriate training and communication to ensure these standards. We are dedicated to meeting or exceeding the standards concerning employee protection from harmful materials. The ESFR sprinkler system, present throughout the plant, exceeds the NFPA 430A standards for the storage of Class I, II and III oxidizers. Furthermore, the entire facility has been designed for secondary containment.
Stellar is registered with the U.S. EPA as EST. No, 58401-IL-1. Our staff is trained for compliance with FIFRA, ILEPA, OSHA and DOT. Stellar has been certified by the National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) for the manufacture of tablets for potable water application. Stellar has ILEPA Air Permits and can perform on-site neutralization of chlorinating compounds. All appropriate personnel receive HAZMAT training. Emergency plans are on file with all local officials.
Annual Environment, Safety and Health audits help ensure that our facility is up to standards. Our waste prevention and recycling programs contribute to a sustainable environment.
